Under black plastic
There's an anguished soul
Hungry to conquer
And with thirst cold
Sweat hides his face
On a long march
In his calloused hands
The sickle and the hoe
And the hope of surviving
Often living
So precariously
Developing without
A needed peace
They witness the loss
Of companion and brother
Giving his life for a
Piece of ground
Seeing his children grow
Without prospects
Of attending school
Good health and food
The conquest of the land alone
Is not enough
Who is there to care
About the future of these people
And the powerful
Still want us to be patient
They do nothing
As they witness the suffering
Of the worker in his misery
Seeing the blood of these people
Mixed with the soil of the land
The struggle goes on with
The same intensity
Reform is slow
Increasing the anxiety
Of these people
For liberty, equality and
Competent justice
And you my brother
What are you doing to contribute?
Nothing I believe.
You all prefer to witness
Our people being massacred,
Banished
And just like you
Being exploited
We need to fight
Head held high
Hand in hand and with us
Feet on the ground
Our greatest weapon,
The tools we use
Are co-operation
Agrarian reform
A fight we all share
Agrarian Reform
A fight we all share
When many won't get involved
And the ones that fight are but few.
