"The flag in the camp, in the occupied property, on the march, is the sign that fences and fears have been broken down, it is an invention of freedom, a sign of contradiction.

They are us, and we are the ones who "won't give in to the enclosures of cynicism, the ones who dream. A country of free land, of free men and women, equal in difference, in their joys, in their rejoicings and in eating their fill. That is our country, that is our flag."

"To all those men, women and children who have made the Landless Movement, for the last 15 years, the most fertile seed-bed of dreams and hopes for our people."
Pedro Tierra

A Man, a Woman, a Flag
This film, produced by the MST, highlights one of the important symbols of the Movement: the flag. It is always present in the místicas, marches, occupations and encampments as a sign of resistance. The film presents, towards the end, a recording of the Anthem to the Flag of the MST, composed by Pedro Tierra.
